Planet Nibiru - Planet X Headed Towards Earth?

Nibiru

The word ‘nibiru’ comes from the Accadian language that translates to a ‘crossing place’ or ‘place of transition’. In Sumerian tablets from some 5,000 years ago are said to depict Nibiru as a ‘planet of crossing’, the cuneiform symbol sign used in Sumerian tablets for this object was often a cross or a winged disc. To those in Babylon of ancient times, this planet was associated with their sacred god Marduk. In the Babylonian creation story, the Enuma Elish a form of this word appears on Tablet 5 where the heavens were being formed by Marduk:

“He made the stations for the great gods; The stars, their images, as the stars of the Zodiac, he fixed. He ordained the year and into sections he divided it; For the twelve months he fixed three stars. After he had ... the days of the year ... images, He founded the station of Nibir to determine their bounds; That none might err or go astray, He set the station of Bel and Ea along with him.”

For some, the reference to Nibir in the Enuma Elish is associated with the planet Jupiter, other feel this stationary body named Nibir refers to a pole star, but in later records, the Babylonians left no question that the ‘neberu’ was a planet. To researchers, Landsberger and Wilson, the newer references appeared to be either Jupiter or Mercury. The group who believes these ancient astronomers left us proof that Nibiru is not a star, but a real planet or brown dwarf from our solar system. The science community debunks their theory and calls it fringe science

Supporting the missing planet theory are the research work of archaeologist and historian Zecharia Stitchin and Burak Eldem. They propose that Nibiru found in Sumerian records refers to a large planet, with an elongated 3630 year orbit through our solar system, similar to Comet CR105 traveling through in the Year 2000. These men’s theories of Sumerian cosmology make Nibiru the 10th planet. Their research leads them to indicate that a satellite of this planet had a cataclysmic collision with Tiamat from the Annunaki story which formed the Earth, the Moon, and the asteroid belt. Due to the intense magnetic forces of such large space objects, such a concept was thought to be impossible until the recent introduction of the Orpheus Theory.

Sumerian myth holds that the Annunaki lived on Nibiru, a technologically advanced alien race of humanoids thought to be The Watchers by some and gods by others. Stichin claims these beings came to Earth because the atmosphere was failing on Nibiru so the Annunaki came here in search of gold to mend their planet’s protective shield. This part of the theory is based on sound science, as even today, NASA plate things used in missions to protect things like the astronaut’s eyesight from effects of the sun.

The Annunaki were known by the Sumers as ‘those who from heaven came to earth’ who wanted to create workers to slave in their gold mines. Stitchin proposes that the Annunaki genetically engineered humans by crossing their genes with the Homo erectus of the evolution theory. In light of the recent discovery that human DNA has a double helix, gives Stitchin’s theory of the Annunaki goddess engineering Adam some weight with certain groups but this goes directly against many other world religion’s texts and teachings.

Zecharia Sitchin arrives and his calculations for the orbit and return of Nibiru with the figures of the Mayan astronomers. Those who gravitate toward accepting the unorthodox views of Eldem in his fiction book, ‘2012: Appointment with Marduk’ and the extensive work of Stichin predict that this mysterious planet Nibiru will return with the end of the Mayan calendar on the Winter Solstice in 2012, and at the specific hour of 11:11 AM universal time. The theories surrounding the 10th planet are made more alarming as its projected arrival coincides with the rare planetary alignment of the Earth, Venus and the Sun lining up with the dark rift of the Milky Way while dropping below the elliptic galactic plane. This is where the largest fear of a cataclysmic pole shift comes from. A theory that is denied as impossible by scientists, yet this has happened more than once before in the long history of planet Earth. The destruction and disappearance of Atlantis was most likely caused by a major pole shift, or crustal dislocation, that caused land to disappear beneath the oceans and new land to rise from the depths.
